Greetings potential journalism student-based audience!

I always find that introducing myself is rather difficult as I never know what to say about myself without boring everyone or coming off as arrogant.
I suppose a relevant starting point is my degree: I am studying a dual degree of Bachelor of Journalism / Bachelor of Arts majoring in political science and history. I chose my majors because I figured they would be a barrel of laughs and full of wonderment. But seriously, I chose them because I think politics and history are important; not necessarily because I want to be a political journalist. This is my second semester at UQ and I jumped in straight after school, however it is my first semester in my current degree as I changed from Bachelor of Social Work after a semester as it was definitely not for me.
I feel as though I am a generally disinteresting person but anyway, I enjoy reading, (not that I have time to read leisurely during uni semesters because I feel guilty I am not reading the things I am supposed to). I just started working at Bunnings which is actually a significant upgrade coming from Eagle Boys Pizza. I like Yen magazine and would love to work for Yen but you know… baby steps; and have a general interest in counterculture and alternative grunge fashion. Call me cliché but my favourite possession is my Polaroid camera. My favourite band is Aerosmith and I enjoy the musical stylings of Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. With those clues you can generally gather what kind of music I am interested in.
I do not know what career I want once I leave uni but it’s such a long way away I can’t bring myself to stress over it unnecessarily anymore.
ANYWHO, I’m always keen to meet new people so if you like, add me on
Faaaaceboook or follow me on Twitter (@NicholaJDavies) as I understand uni can be a lonely and terrifying place.

-Nichola.
