Lecture #3

It is never a surprise to anyone nowadays if you mention photography as one of your hobbies.
It's becoming borderline cliche and banal. That's not to say photography isn't awesome; because it is. It truly is. Amazing, inspiring, heartbreaking, motivational and breathtaking things have been captured through the lens in countless different industries, including an ingrained history in journalism.
Photojournalism is an increasingly popular and competitive field which beckons for sublime talent.
So what makes a great photo? From today's lecture, we are aware that the certain elements listed below are important fundamentals for taking a good shot.
  • Framing
  • Focus
  • Angle
  • Point of View
  • Exposure / Light
  • Timing - shutter speed
  • Rule of thirds
  • Capturing the moment
Perhaps another of the most vital elements of photography is summarised by Eetu Silanpaa- "A picture has no meaning at all if it can't tell a story".
